ACEC Indiana Regular Membership Application

** Only ACEC Indiana active regular members are eligible to take advantage of the United Healthcare Life/ HealthTrust, Business Insurance Trust and Retirement Trust. Associate members are not eligible for these products and services.
Prospective members must complete a membership application for review by ACEC Indiana staff.
According to the By-Laws of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Indiana, Inc. the definition of an active regular member is:
1) Must Be a Consulting Engineering Firm
Consulting engineers are independent professional engineers who perform services for clients on a contract basis without commercial or manufacturing affiliations that might bias their judgment. Their services include pre planning, design and design implementation, research and development, construction management and consultations on engineering-related problems. Consulting engineers have no commercial affiliations with manufacturers, material suppliers, contractors or others which bias their judgment.
2) Must Have a Full-Time Office in Indiana
Members must have a permanent and bona fide home or branch office in Indiana with a full-time Indiana Registered Professional Engineer on staff in order to be eligible to become an active regular member.
3) Must Have a Full-Time Registered Professional Engineer as a Principal in Good Standing with No Adverse Judgments With the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency
To render such services properly, engineers must be qualified by education, technical knowledge, and experience, with appropriate licensing by a state to practice one or more disciplines of engineering. Indiana Registered Professional Engineers are licensed by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency. 4) Must uphold the ACEC Indiana Professional & Ethical Guidelines as defined online at acecindiana.org and referenced in the By-Laws
Dues Information
- ACEC IN and ACEC National annual dues are based on an index number, which is determined by the total number of personnel employed by the firm including all principals, engineers and support staff. As of fiscal year 2018-19, ACEC IN dues are a base amount of $150 multiplied by $307 per index number and ACEC National dues are $390 per index number [$617 for single person firms].
- Please contact staff@acecindiana.org to determine your firm’s index number and dues for the year. For firms joining after the start of the fiscal year (July 1), dues are prorated. Dues Fees will be processed after the application is approved.
- Contributions or gifts to ACEC IN and ACEC are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes, but dues payments may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense subject to restriction imposed as a result of association lobbying activities.
